Sunflowers & Bees

I started up again reading a 'Canon t3i For Dummies' book so I can get as much out of my camera as possible. I went out to practice what I read & I got these shots. You have to click on the first one to see what's in it. These have nothing to do really with what I read 

but I like them. I was pretty impressed with the first shot, which doesn't happen often.

Maria Ruth Hicks

Maria was born July 19th and is the 13th grandchild.

There are now 7 girls & 6 boys.

We were all very happy and surprised to hear it was a girl! We would have been happy with a boy too but Maria's nice. I'm very thankful to be a part of their lives and be able to be right in the action at times like these. To watch David James' face when he heard it was a girl was priceless. He usually tries to act tough but he's really sweet. Having a sister will be
good for him & Matt.

The Lord, again, has given us what we don't deserve.

Oh taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man 

that trusts in Him.

Point Defiance Park

I think David could have stayed all day to take pictures.

Matthew knows how to bug me:) 

The day we went to the zoo, we stopped on the way back at this garden and David & I took pictures. There were rows of different colored roses & other flowers. I want to go again some time with a 100-400mm lens or a Macro. David James took lots of pictures too and was yelling half the time for us to smell the flowers:) Matthew, on the other hand, enjoyed playing in the gravel & didn't really notice the flowers. We we're getting ready to leave and he had two handfulls of rocks he was gonna bring home for his frog.

A Day At The Zoo

David enjoyed watching all the sharks. 

 Yesterday I went to the zoo with David, Joanna, David James & Matt. They thought baby #3 was gonna come in the afternoon & I would drive the boys back home from the hospital, but it didn't happen. The boys still liked the zoo & we're glad they're dad had the day off.
